Contacting Participants and Questioning

Contacting Participants and Questioning

We are making the questions for when we interview our person(s), these will be open questions so we are able to get more detailed answers from the people we are interviewing. If we had one word answers we could be accused of making up the answers because they aren't thorough and detailed enough to even talk about over a 5 minute broadcast. Open questions will allow us to talk for a while on our broadcast about our interview and it means we have a good idea about the article we are working with.

We are finding the people we could interview, We will look for people who watch the programme of course, from the ages of 16+ and live near or in the area that is being targeted because if they didn't watch the programme then it would be pointless asking them questions that they wouldn't have a clue about, the age was chosen because 16 is really the lowest average age that people are watching this show so therefore they are in the target audience bracket we are aiming for, living near the area is key as they need a concept of the area we are interviewing them on and must have some valuable knowledge on the area for them to give honest and unbiased answers.

We will contact the people we are going to choose to interview, we will contact these people and find a time and place where we can conduct the interview them, we will make the times and location suited to their needs as long as they meet our availability around our college hours. The interview is likely to be around 5-10 minutes long but for our broadcast we will shorten this time to talk briefly about the interview and more about the points that the interviewee made.
